The following changes are good because they make our lives convenient, but unfortunately it also has impact on personal stability. Creating a sense of stability in yourself is essential and you can do so by building a healthy self-esteem. The very term self-esteem is used to describe an individual’s sense of values; in other words, self-worth meaning how much you appreciate and like yourself. Self-esteem has the power to make remarkable improvements and moulds successful life.
Here are three ways in which self- esteem shapes a successful life. Bring in stability Being stable and enduring are two personality traits often reflected in a person with good self-esteem. The rapid change in the society, which has led to the fast pace lifestyle has conditioned us all in a certain way. We no longer stick to one job, struggling with its many phases. Instead, when things at work become too difficult to handle or is no more of convenience, we choose to switch jobs. Similar to the jobs, our relationships are also very short lived and these changes do matter considering the drastic impact it leaves on your emotions. No matter how large or small the matters are, it does leave an impression on individual’s lives in different ways, resulting in hindrance to the progress. By developing a strong foundation of self-esteem or core values, you are set to take criticisms, learn from failure and work hard towards your goal. Motivation An individual’s appraisal of one’s own appearance, beliefs, emotions, and behaviours are affected by the variety of beliefs involved. When you have a lower self-esteem, it holds you back from being successful. This can happen to anyone and everyone - there is no age bar for lower self- esteem. It creates self-doubts, which sets you back from accomplishing what you set out to achieve and drains out the motivation. Self-esteem plays a significant role in keeping you motivated throughout your life. By believing in yourself, you will embrace success and show signs of a healthy individual with his own self-esteem. Ability to Face Challenges Challenges and choices are part of day to day life. Not every choice we make ends up with positive results, there are few choices that may leave you with regrets. What really counts is the lesson you learn from the choices. It is more about adapting this state of mind in which you consider these choices as a matter of improvement and not as destructive or harmful to oneself. When you have low self-esteem, the chances of accepting challenges are quite few. This is harmful in a way, as this does not allow you to unleash your capabilities and limits your choices along the road. A good self - esteem will never stand in the way of your development because with a stable mind, you are awaiting challenges to face and lessons to learn. If you are feeling inadequate or unworthy, it becomes difficult to focus on goals. Thus, building healthy self-esteem promises a successful life because it enables you to navigate life with a positive and assertive attitude that helps accomplish your goals.
